The day after his inauguration, women (and men) from every race, culture, and political affiliation stood up together to protest the election of multiple-times-accused-sexual-predator Donald Trump. The largest single-day protest recorded in US history ignited the spirit of protest in the States, but the effects are being felt all over the world and have spurred on a dialogue and activism in an incredibly beautiful, kickass way that has us all embracing GRL PWR like never before.
The ripple effect of women standing up together to say ‘NO’ to abuse, and no to harassment, spawned the birth of the #MeToo campaign. Harnessing the power of social media, women from all over the world shared their stories, demonstrating that they would no longer be silent or tolerate discriminatory behaviour. Discrimination and bigotry can’t hold women like Caster back; they simply use it as motivation to slay even harder.
